URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...RED FLAG WARNING THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR WARM... WINDY AND
DRY CONDITIONS FOR SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND THE TRANS PECOS...

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 5pm mst/6pm cst.
RH values have slowly been falling this afternoon as temperatures
rise and should go below 15 percent. Combine this with a gusty
west wind with 20ft wind speeds well above 20 mph and the result
will be critical fire weather conditions. Wind speeds will
decrease this evening ending the short term fire weather concerns.

THIS EVENING FOR SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND THE TRANS PECOS...

* WIND...West to northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40
  mph.

* HUMIDITY...12 TO 15 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...10 to 15 degrees above normal.

* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly.  A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can
contribute to dangerous fire behavior.
