WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

1111 AM CDT THU OCT 30 2014 /1211 PM EDT THU OCT 30 2014/

SKIES WERE CLOUDY ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST
INDIANA AT MIDDAY...WITH A FEW AREAS GETTING A PEAK OF THE SUN.
TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE LOW TO MID 40S WITH SOUTHERLY WINDS.

HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY WILL MOVE EAST AND WEAKEN
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE
AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...BRINGING THE CHANCE FOR A FEW
SPRINKLES. A BETTER CHANCE FOR LIGHT RAIN WILL BE DURING THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS. HIGHS THIS AFTERNOON WILL REACH INTO THE LOW 50S.
FOR HALLOWEEN...GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL USHER IN MUCH COLDER
AIR INTO THE REGION BEHIND THE FRONT...AND HIGHS WILL ONLY BE IN
THE LOW 40S. LAKE EFFECT RAIN SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN
NORTHWEST INDIANA AND ACROSS THE ILLINOIS LAKE SHORE AREA.
HOWEVER...BY FRIDAY EVENING AND DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS THERE
COULD BE A MIXTURE OF LAKE EFFECT RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS. SOME
AREAS ACROSS NORTHWEST INDIANA COULD SEE UP TO A HALF AN INCH OF
SNOW. THE COLD AIR WILL LINGER THROUGH THE WEEKEND...AS HIGH
TEMPERATURES WILL STAY IN THE 40S.
