BASED ON DATA THROUGH 0000 UTC JANUARY 25 2015

A COLD FRONT BISECTING THE REGION CONTINUES TO SLOWLY ADVANCE TO THE
EAST AT 15 MPH ACROSS THE MAIN HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. THE LEADING EDGE OF
THE FRONT RUNS ALONG 30N145W...28N147W...24N150W...NEAR THE NORTHERN
TIP OF THE BIG ISLAND AT 21N155W...AND 16N165W. BETWEEN 147W AND
155W...THE FRONT IS COMPRISED OF A 125 MILE-WIDE BAND OF BROKEN LOW
CLOUDS WITH TOPS AROUND 10000 TO 12000 FT. TO THE NORTH OF 28N...THE
FRONT EXPANDS TO 200 MILES IN WIDTH AND CONTAINS LAYERED CLOUDS
REACHING NEARLY 35000 FT...AND TO THE WEST OF 155W...THE FRONT
BECOMES DIFFUSE AND EXPANDS TO 250 MILES WIDE WITH CLOUD TOPS MOSTLY
CONFINED BELOW 10000 FT.

THE LEADING EDGE OF THE FRONT CUTS THROUGH THE ALENUIHAHA CHANNEL.
AS A RESULT...ALL OF THE ISLANDS OF MAUI COUNTY AND THEIR ADJACENT
WATERS ARE COVERED WITH BROKEN TO OVERCAST CUMULUS AND STRATOCUMULUS
CLOUDS. DIFFUSE TRAILING MOISTURE BEHIND THE FRONT IS KEEPING MUCH
OF OAHU...KAUAI AND THEIR ADJACENT WATERS COVERED WITH BROKEN
STRATOCUMULUS CLOUDS. THE GREATEST CONCENTRATION OF CLOUDS ON THESE
ISLANDS REMAINS ALONG NORTH FACING TERRAIN...WHILE AREAS TO THE
SOUTH OF THE TERRAIN ARE EXPERIENCING MOSTLY SCATTERED LOW CLOUDS.
ON THE BIG ISLAND...STABLE BROKEN LOW CLOUDS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE
MIDDLE SLOPES BELOW 6500 FT.

AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE FOLLOWING THE FRONT IS CENTERED NEAR
29N173W. A LOW LEVEL RIDGE EXTENDS FROM THE HIGH JUST NORTH OF THE
NORTHWEST HAWAIIAN ISLANDS TO ABOUT 150 MILES NORTH OF KAUAI.
STABLE...SCATTERED TO BROKEN STRATOCUMULUS CLOUDS DOMINATE NEAR AND
SOUTH OF THE RIDGE AND HIGH.

A FIELD OF CUMULUS CLOUDS IS OBSERVED BETWEEN THE FRONT AND 165W
NORTH OF 27N. THESE CLOUDS ARE BEING GENERATED BY AN UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH DRIVING THE FRONT. THE UPPER TROUGH AXIS EXTENDS ALONG 151W
NORTH OF THE MAIN HAWAIIAN ISLANDS AND IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT
40 MPH.
