INTERSTATE 35 THIS AFTERNOON...

HOT CONDITIONS PERSIST ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS AND TODAY
WILL NOT BE AN EXCEPTION...BUT HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO
CLIMB A FEW DEGREES HIGHER THAN THEY HAVE BEEN THE PAST SEVERAL
DAYS. MANY LOCATIONS ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 35 WILL
EXPERIENCE HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE 105-108 DEGREE RANGE FOR A FEW
HOURS THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. TAKE
FREQUENT BREAKS IF YOU MUST WORK OUTSIDE TODAY. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO TAKE PLACE IN THE
EVENING HOURS OR EARLY MORNING HOURS. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE
FITTING CLOTHING...AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. NEVER LEAVE
PEOPLE...CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN A VEHICLE. TEMPERATURES
INSIDE AN ENCLOSED VEHICLE CAN REACH 20 TO 30 DEGREES HIGHER THAN
AMBIENT OUTSIDE CONDITIONS.
