URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Low elevation snow to affect all mountain passes above 2000
feet Tuesday and Wednesday...

.A winter storm is forecast to bring snow all the way to the
valley floors. Meanwhile this system could bring warning level
amounts to many of the mountain passes above 2000 feet before snow
showers bring snow to the valley floors. This could impact Holiday
travel.

...WINTER STORM WATCH ABOVE 2000 FEET IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow above 2000 feet possible. Total snow
  accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 10
  inches are possible.

* WHERE...Portions of the Cascades including highway 140 near Keno
  and US Highway 97 betweeen Modoc Point and Crescent.

* WHEN...Heaviest snow will fall Tuesday afternoon through
  Wednesday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Slippery snow covered roads and reduced
  visibilities will be possible. Plan on difficult travel
  conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* Stock emergency kit with tire chains, flashlight, batteries,
  blankets, food, water, and medications.

* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.

* Plan now to avoid traveling during the storm.

* A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
  snow accumulations that may create dangerous travel.

  10 inches are possible.

* WHERE...Highway 140 east of White City. Highway 62 between
  Shady Cove and Union Creek. State Route 227 south of Tiller.
  Highway 138 in the eastern Douglas County Foothills near Toketee
  Falls.

* WHEN...Heaviest snow will fall Tuesday afternoon through
  Wednesday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Slippery snow covered roads and reduced
  visibilities will be possible. Plan on difficult travel
  conditions.

  89 at Snowmans Summit. And Sawyers Bar Road between Etna and
  Somes Bar.

* WHEN...Heaviest snow will fall Tuesday afternoon through
  Wednesday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Slippery snow covered roads and reduced
  visibilities will be possible. Plan on difficult travel
  conditions.
