   WIND ADVISORY.

BANDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS UNTIL A COLD FRONT PUSHES EAST LATE THIS AFTERNOON.
CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING AND STRONG WIND GUSTS ARE THE MAIN
THREATS WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS. THE LINES OF SHOWERS AND STORMS
WILL ALSO BRING HEAVY RAIN...IN THE ONE TO TWO INCH RANGE...WITH
HIGHER AMOUNTS IN SOUTHERLY UPSLOPE AREAS. THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN
COULD BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS.

BANDS OR LINES OF SHOWERS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE FOOTHILLS AND
PIEDMONT OF THE CAROLINAS...MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...AS
A COLD FRONT PUSHES EAST ACROSS THE REGION. A FEW CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING STRIKES ARE POSSIBLE. SOME OF THE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG WIND GUSTS THAT COULD
KNOCK DOWN TREES AND LIMBS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE
POSSIBLE.

RAINFALL...WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
THIS EVENING AS A COLD FRONT PUSHES EAST. A FEW CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL BE POSSIBLE. THE SHOWERS AND STORMS COULD
BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG TO SEVERE WIND GUSTS CAPABLE OF KNOCKING
DOWN TREES AND LIMBS. ENOUGH WIND SHEAR WILL BE PRESENT TO PROVIDE
FOR SOME ORGANIZATION OF THE THUNDERSTORMS SUCH THAT AN ISOLATED
TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT. THE THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER SHOULD
END DURING THE EARLY EVENING AS THE COLD FRONT PASSES.
