This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the mountains of northeast
Georgia, southwestern North Carolina, and the mountains of upstate
South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

A few isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible
across the region this afternoon. Any storms that develop will
produce cloud-to-ground lightning and brief torrential downpours.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

..Thursday...Heavy rain possible. Gulf moisture will continue to
stream into the region consequent of Tropical Cyclone Cindy over the
next 24 to 36 hours. Improving southerly flow combined with this
moisture will lead to increased chances for upslope showers and
thunderstorms along the southern Blue Ridge escarpment. Rainfall
totals of around 2 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts
certainly possible. This heavy rainfall could lead to flooding
concerns in later periods.
