NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE
WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA INTO THE EARLY EVENING
HOURS.THE GREATEST COVERAGE WILL TO OCCUR ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS.
THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND HEAVY
RAINFALL. A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE AND PRODUCE
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL.

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE
PIEDMONT OF THE CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON. THE
MAIN THREAT WILL BE CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAINFALL.
A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE AND PRODUCE DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL. IN ADDITION...HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL PEAK
BETWEEN 100 TO 104 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON. IF POSSIBLE...DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER AND SPEND TIME IN A WELL VENTILATED OR AIR
CONDITIONED AREA THIS AFTERNOON.

..WEDNESDAY...EXCESSIVE HEAT POSSIBLE. HIGH PRESSURE WILL PERSIST

WELL ABOVE NORMAL LEVELS UNDER THIS HIGH AND COMBINE WITH HIGH
HUMIDITY...PRODUCING DANGEROUS HEAT INDEX VALUES ACROSS THE AREA.
