THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN
NORTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WIDESPREAD RAIN SHOWERS WILL AFFECT THE REGION THIS MORNING BEFORE
THE COVERAGE OF SHOWERS GRADUALLY TAPERS OFF FROM THE WEST THIS
AFTERNOON. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS COULD ACCOMPANY THE SHOWERS AT
TIMES. THE MAIN HAZARDS WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP WILL
BE A FEW CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES AND LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL. WHILE WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED...LOCALIZED
FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE IN LOCATIONS WHERE THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS
FALL ON GROUND ALREADY SATURATED FROM RECENT RAINFALL.

IN ADDITION...VERY GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS ABOVE 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE
ALONG THE HIGHEST RIDGE TOPS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS.

NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WIDESPREAD SHOWERS...WITH ISOLATED TO SCATTERED EMBEDDED
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST
GEORGIA TODAY. THE MAIN THREATS WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND A FEW CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING
STRIKES. WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED...BUT ISOLATED
FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE IN AREAS WHERE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN
SHOWERS FALL ON SATURATED GROUND. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WILL
LIKELY ARRIVE JUST AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT THIS AFTERNOON. GUSTY
WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS...ESPECIALLY
IN LOCATIONS SOUTHEAST OF INTERSTATE 85.
