NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

SCATTERED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MAY STILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON
AMID AREAS OF MORE WIDESPREAD LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL. ANY
SUCH STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING...AND
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. ISOLATED FLOODING IS POSSIBLE...PARTICULARLY
IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...OR WHERE SOILS ARE STILL SATURATED FROM
OTHER RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL. A FEW OF THE THUNDERSTORMS COULD
BECOME SEVERE...WITH THE GREATEST CHANCE MAINLY ALONG AND EAST OF
THE INTERSTATE 77 CORRIDOR THROUGH MID AFTERNOON. DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS AND SMALL HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY OF THE STRONG TO
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.

IN THE VICINITY OF A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY...AND WITH ABUNDANT
MOISTURE...CONDITIONS REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THUNDERSTORMS. ANY SUCH STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING CLOUD
TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND TORRENTIAL RAINFALL. ISOLATED FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE...PARTICULARLY IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE...OR WHERE SOILS
ARE STILL SATURATED FROM OTHER RECENT HEAVY RAINS. A COUPLE OF THE
STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE...WITH DAMAGING WIND GUSTS THE PRIMARY
THREAT.
