NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
PIEDMONT...FOOTHILLS...AND PORTIONS OF THE EXTREME SOUTHERN
APPALACHIANS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING
WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREAT WITH THESE STORMS. HOWEVER...A FEW
STORMS COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND POSSIBLY HAIL.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40...FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE
NORTHERN PIEDMONT. CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREAT
WITH THESE STORMS. HOWEVER...A FEW STORMS COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT AN ORGANIZED LINE
OF THUNDERSTORMS COULD DEVELOP ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY AND
TENNESSEE EARLY THIS EVENING. STEERING WINDS COULD BRING THE
STORMS ACROSS THE REGION DURING THE MID TO LATE EVENING HOURS. IF
THIS SCENARIO DEVELOPS...THE POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS WILL
INCREASE ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS.
