North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

A few isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible
across the piedmont of northeast Georgia and the Upstate and over
toward the southern edge of the Charlotte metro area this afternoon.
Any storms that develop will produce cloud-to-ground lightning and
brief torrential downpours.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, western
North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Gulf moisture will continue to stream into the region today through
tonight. Increasing southerly flow combined with this moisture will
lead to numerous upslope showers and thunderstorms along the
southern Blue Ridge escarpment. Rainfall totals of around 2 inches
are expected, with locally higher amounts certainly possible. This
heavy rainfall could lead to isolated flooding concerns, mainly this
evening and overnight tonight.
