THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST GEORGIA...WESTERN
NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL OVERNIGHT ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS OF
THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA. THE HEAVIEST RAIN IS
EXPECTED TO OCCUR ALONG THE SOUTHERN BLUE RIDGE...WHERE AS MUCH AS
2 INCHES OF RAIN COULD FALL. LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING CANNOT BE
RULED OUT...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE SOUTHERN TIER OF COUNTIES IN
NORTH CAROLINA. IN ADDITION...ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE...WITH OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING POSSIBLE. FINALLY...VERY GUSTY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO
AFFECT EXPOSED PEAKS AND RIDGETOPS OF THE HIGH TERRAIN THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING. GUSTS OF OVER 50 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THESE
LOCATIONS. WINDS WILL BE MUCH WEAKER IN THE VALLEYS.

ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
ACROSS THE PIEDMONT AND FOOTHILLS OF THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND
NORTHEAST GEORGIA OVERNIGHT...WITH THE BEST CHANCES EXISTING SOUTH
OF I-85. THE MAIN THREATS WILL BE FROM CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTING
AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.
