IN ADDITION TO THE STRONG HIGH ELEVATION WINDS...A LINE OF HEAVY
RAIN SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS THIS MORNING. THESE HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS COULD BRING SOME
OF THE HIGH WINDS ALOFT DOWN TO THE VALLEY FLOORS...POSSIBLY
RESULTING IN LOCALIZED WIND DAMAGE. ALSO...TOTAL RAINFALL OF UP
TO 3 INCHES IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE END OF
THE DAY. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

NORTH CAROLINA...WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
MOVE ACROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA TODAY. THE
LINE OF STORMS IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO NORTHEAST GEORGIA AND
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA BY MID-MORNING...THEN PROGRESS EAST ACROSS
THE WESTERN CAROLINAS THROUGHOUT THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON. STRONG
WIND SHEAR AND WEAK INSTABILITY WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE A THREAT
FOR ISOLATED SEVERE WEATHER IN THIS LINE OF STORMS...WITH DAMAGING
WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES BEING THE PRIMARY THREATS. THE
HIGHEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL EXIST ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE
I-85 CORRIDOR...ESPECIALLY FROM LATE MORNING ON. HOWEVER...SEVERE
WEATHER CANNOT BE RULED OUT ANYWHERE.

IN ADDITION TO THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT... LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL COULD RESULT IN FLOODING OF URBANIZED AREAS AND
SMALL...FLOOD PRONE STREAMS.
