.A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS
TODAY...THEN MOVE THROUGH THE AREA TUESDAY MORNING. AHEAD OF THIS
FRONT A STRONG SOUTHERLY LOW-LEVEL JET WILL MOVE OVERHEAD.
VERTICAL PROFILES WILL NOT SUPPORT SUCH STRONG FLOW REACHING DOWN
INTO THE VALLEYS...BUT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WILL BE EXPOSED TO

THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST TUESDAY.

* LOCATIONS...THE HIGHER ELEVATION PORTIONS OF THE MOUNTAINS OF
  WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.

* HAZARDS...VERY STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL PICK UP THIS AFTERNOON...PEAKING LATE THIS
  EVENING OR VERY EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. THEY SHOULD TAPER OFF
  AROUND DAYBREAK TUESDAY.

* WINDS...SOUTH 25 TO 40 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS MAY BLOW DOWN LIMBS...TREES...AND POWER
  LINES. SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES ARE EXPECTED.
