. STRONG GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS HAVE DEVELOPED BEHIND A COLD FRONT
AND WILL PERSIST THROUGH THE DAY TODAY. WINDS ARE FORECAST TO
DECREASE THIS EVENING.

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS.

* HAZARDS...VERY WINDY CONDITIONS.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND REMAIN VERY GUSTY
  THROUGH THE DAYLIGHT HOURS. WINDS WILL GRADUALLY WEAKEN FROM
  LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 45 TO 55 MPH.
  ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5000 FEET MAY SEE OCCASIONAL GUSTS OF 60 TO 65
  MPH.

* IMPACTS...THE VERY WINDY CONDITIONS WILL MAKE DRIVING
  DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES AND IN MOUNTAIN
  PASSES. A FEW TREES OR LIMBS COULD BE DOWNED BY THE
  WINDS...CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
