.A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS TONIGHT...
THEN MOVE THROUGH THE AREA TUESDAY MORNING. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT A
STRONG SOUTHERLY LOW-LEVEL JET WILL MOVE OVERHEAD. VERTICAL
PROFILES WILL NOT SUPPORT SUCH STRONG FLOW REACHING DOWN INTO THE
VALLEYS...BUT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS WILL BE EXPOSED TO UNUSUALLY

7 AM EST TUESDAY. THE WIND ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...THE HIGHER ELEVATION PORTIONS OF THE MOUNTAINS OF
  WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.

* HAZARDS...VERY STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL PEAK LATE THIS EVENING OR VERY EARLY
  TUESDAY MORNING. THEY SHOULD TAPER OFF AROUND DAYBREAK TUESDAY.

* WINDS...SOUTH 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH.

* IMPACTS...DAMAGING WINDS WILL BLOW DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES.
  WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES ARE EXPECTED. TRAVEL WILL BE
  DIFFICULT... ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. LIMITED
