...NWS METEOROLOGISTS CONFIRM EF2 TORNADO IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY
SOUTH CAROLINA...

The National Weather Service office in Greer SC is currently
conducting a storm survey for the area from Woodruff to
Spartanburg in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The survey is
in relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the
area on October 23 2017.

The survey team has concluded that the damage in Spartanburg
County was caused by a tornado. They have rated the tornado as
EF2.

A final assessment including specific details of the damage,
path, and length are expected to be completed and transmitted via
a Public Information Statement by 700 PM EDT.

It will also be available on our website at weather.gov/gsp.
