Scattered showers and storms for the North Carolina ridgetop
areas late today and only isolated to widely scattered
convection for the rest of the mountains and adjacent foothills.
No rain is forecast during the next 24 hours across the Western
Carolinas or Northeast Georgia. Rainfall will average less than
a quarter of an inch with much more under the core of any storm.
Somewhat greater coverage is forecast for late Tuesday.

Major rivers are expected to remain nearly steady or fall slightly.
