...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT MCDOWELL...NORTHEASTERN
RUTHERFORD...CALDWELL...SOUTHEASTERN AVERY...NORTHWESTERN CLEVELAND
AND BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 15 miles northeast of Columbus to 5 miles north
of Rutherfordton to 5 miles north of Forest City. Movement was north
at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lenoir, Morganton, Marion, Newland, Sawmills, Valdese, Gamewell,
Hudson, Cajah`s Mountain, and Drexel.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
