NORTH CAROLINA FOOTHILLS AND PIEDMONT INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON...

AT 950 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM LAKE LURE TO
ROEBUCK TO CROSS HILL...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL LIKELY ACCOMPANY THE LEADING LINE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. WIND GUSTS COULD RANGE AROUND 40 MPH. IN
ADDITION...PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE
REGION INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND
WET SOIL CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE SCATTERED TREES AND POWER LINES TO
FALL.
