NORTHWESTERN UNION...NORTHEASTERN CHESTER AND EASTERN YORK COUNTIES
UNTIL 530 PM EST...

At 456 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of an area of
heavy rain along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of
Lincolnton to 8 miles east of Gastonia to 9 miles south of Rock Hill,
and moving northeast at 50 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Rock Hill, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Statesville, Monroe,
Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, Southwest
Charlotte and East Charlotte.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and torrential rainfall rates up to 3 inches
per hour will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
