...LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS
OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

A storm system will approach the area tonight. Moisture will
increase this evening, with rain pushing into the higher
elevations of the North Carolina mountains around midnight. As
cold air filters in, rain may mix with and change to freezing rain
just before daybreak, before quickly changing to a mixture of
sleet and snow. Precipitation will taper off around midday
Wednesday. Light snowfall accumulations will be possible,
generally at elevations above 3500 feet, with no more than an inch
or two expected.
