...PATCHY DENSE FOG WILL AFFECT THE NORTH CAROLINA PIEDMONT
THROUGH 9 AM EDT...

Although the atmosphere continues to dry this morning following
passage of a cold front yesterday, abundant near surface moisture
is lingering due to the recent heavy rainfall. This will allow fog
to form in piedmont areas near the Interstate 77 corridor, and the
fog could become dense in a few places. Visibility may be locally
reduced to less than one-quarter mile at times, and may change
rapidly over short distances.

Be prepared to encounter patchy dense fog if traveling around the
region this morning. Allow extra driving time and stopping
distance. Use low-beam headlights and fog lamps if you encounter
fog.
