...ADDITIONAL ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN THIS MORNING...

At 829 AM EST, Doppler radar was tracking heavy rain showers poised
to spread north across the advised area. Given the existing wet
conditions across the North Carolina Foothills, this round of
showers could aggravate existing high water conditions. Also,
motorists should be prepared for reduced visibilities and ponding
of water on roads.

Locations to be impacted include...
Hickory, Lenoir, Morganton, Forest City, Taylorsville, Rutherfordton,
St. Stephens, Longview, Sawmills and Granite Falls.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
