...THE SOUTH CAROLINA FORESTRY COMMISSION WILL LIFT THE BURNING
BAN FOR THE SOUTH CAROLINA PIEDMONT AT 6PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME
ON TUESDAY NOV 29TH...

STATE FORESTERS ARE LIFTING THE BURNING BAN AT TUESDAY, NOVEMBER
29TH AT 6 PM FOR ALL PIEDMONT COUNTIES. THIS INCLUDES THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES, ABBEVILLE, ANDERSON, CHEROKEE, CHESTER,
EDGEFIELD, FAIRFIELD, GREENVILLE, GREENWOOD, LAURENS, LEXINGTON,
MCCORMICK, NEWBERRY, OCONEE, PICKENS, RICHLAND, SALUDA,
SPARTANBURG, UNION AND YORK.

THE BAN IS BEING LIFTED BECAUSE OF RECENT RAINFALL COMBINED WITH
EXPECTED ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AND INCREASES IN HUMIDITY ACROSS THE
REGION OVER THE NEXT WEEK.

THE STATEWIDE BAN WAS ORIGINALLY ISSUED SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH. THE
BAN WAS ENACTED AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE DURING EXTREMELY DRY
CONDITIONS AND WHILE MANY AGENCY RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL ARE DEPLOYED
TO THE PINNACLE MOUNTAIN FIRE IN PICKENS COUNTY.

THE FORESTRY COMMISSION STILL ADVISES ALL CITIZENS TO BE
EXTREMELY VIGILANT AT ALL TIMES, AND ARE REMINDED THAT STATE LAW
REQUIRES THAT THE SOUTH CAROLINA FORESTRY COMMISSION IS NOTIFIED
BEFORE BURNING OUTDOORS. YOU CAN FIND YOUR COUNTY TOLL FREE
