...PATCHY FREEZING PRECIPITATION POSSIBLE THROUGH 930 AM EST
ACROSS THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA...

Chilly air continues to spill southward across western North
Carolina early this morning behind a cold front moving south
across Georgia. Occasional light rain or drizzle will fall across
the area through the morning hours, and patchy light freezing rain
or freezing drizzle will be possible in a few locations through at
least 9 AM as temperatures hover close to the freezing mark.
Little to no ice accumulation is expected on the warm and wet
ground, but a patchy glaze of ice could develop on some elevated
surfaces.

Monitor road conditions closely this morning. Use caution while
driving in case you encounter slippery spots on bridges or
overpasses. Allow a little extra travel time to reach your
destination this morning.
