...HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN MCDOWELL...
NORTHEASTERN RUTHERFORD...WESTERN CALDWELL AND WESTERN BURKE COUNTIES
UNTIL 700 PM EDT...

At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain showers along a
line extending from 12 miles southeast of Newland to 8 miles north of
Rutherfordton, and moving northeast at 25 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Morganton, Gamewell, Glen Alpine, Lake James State Park, Table Rock,
Lake James, Drexel, South Mountains State Park, Thermal City and
Collettsville.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The combination of gusty winds and saturated soil conditions will
cause scattered trees and power lines to fall. Seek shelter inside an
interior room.

Carolina.
