...A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT MADISON...SWAIN AND
NORTHWESTERN HAYWOOD COUNTIES UNTIL 1245 AM EDT...

At 1158 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of a cluster
of thunderstorms along a line extending from 12 miles northwest of
Marshall to 11 miles north of Robbinsville, and moving southeast at
25 mph.

Locations to be impacted include...
Bryson City, Marshall, Cherokee, Mars Hill, Hot Springs, Smoky
Mountains-Fontana Area, Smoky Mountains-Balsam Mountain, Smoky
Mountains-Big Creek, Smoky Mountains-Deep Creek and Smoky
Mountains-Cataloochee.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches
per hour will be possible in these areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio and
tv stations, as well as local cable tv outlets for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
