...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN MCDOWELL AND SOUTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES...

At 525 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles northeast
of Marion, or near Lake James State Park, moving east at 10 mph.
Trees have been reported down in the City of Marion.  Storm is
beginning to weaken, but some threat of strong winds will continue
for another 10 to 15 minutes.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Marion, Lake James State Park, Lake James, Nebo, Sugar Hill, Pleasant
Gardens, Glenwood, Fero, Dysartsville and Woodlawn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Scattered trees and power lines will be blown down in the warned
area. Seek shelter inside an interior room.
