...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN OCONEE COUNTY...

At 357 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northeast of
Walhalla, or near Salem, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind
         damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Salem, Devils Fork State Park, Lake Keowee, Lake Jocassee, and
Walhalla.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Brief damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines over small
areas. A brief period of large hail is also possible. Seek shelter
inside an interior room.

If on or near Lake Keowee or southern Lake Jocassee, get away from
the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning
can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move
to safe shelter now!  Do not be caught on the water in a
thunderstorm.
