URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...PATCHY LIGHT FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE EARLY THIS MORNING OVER
PARTS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS...

.A BAND OF PRECIPITATION OVER EASTERN TENNESSEE WILL REACH THE
NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS AROUND DAYBREAK. TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA WERE GENERALLY IN THE 30S...WITH
SEVERAL LOCATIONS BELOW FREEZING. AS THE BAND OF PRECIPITATION
MOVES ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH MID MORNING...THIS COULD RESULT
IN SOME PATCHES OF FREEZING RAIN IN LOCATIONS WHERE THE
TEMPERATURE STAYS BELOW 32 DEGREES. WHILE THE MAJORITY OF THE
MOUNTAINS WILL SEE RAIN...THERE WILL BE SOME COLDER LOCATIONS THAT
GET A QUICK FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF FREEZING RAIN THAT COULD
CAUSE SLIPPERY PATCHES ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS...PARTICULARLY
HIGHWAY OVERPASSES. THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD MOVE EAST OF THE
MOUNTAINS BY 10 AM AT THE LATEST.

THIS MORNING.

* LOCATIONS...THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA...WITH THE EXCEPTION
  OF THE UPPER FRENCH BROAD VALLEY.

* HAZARDS...A LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF FREEZING RAIN IN SOME
  LOCATIONS WHERE THE TEMPERATURE REMAINS BELOW FREEZING...THAT
  COULD RESULT IN SLIPPERY ROADWAYS AND BRIDGES.

* TIMING...THROUGH 10 AM SUNDAY MORNING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...A LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF ICE IN SOME COLDER SPOTS.

* IMPACTS...SLIPPERY PATCHES ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND BRIDGES.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
