FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
222 PM CDT TUE OCT 21 2014

.DISCUSSION...

DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE NEXT 7 DAYS AS A HIGH PRESSURE
SYSTEM PREVAILS ACROSS THE REGION. A WEAK SURFACE COLD FRONT WILL
CROSS THE REGION TONIGHT BRINGING DRIER AIR ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA.

MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES SHOULD HOLD CLOSE TO 35-38 PERCENT
ON TUESDAY AND AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY. MIXING HEIGHTS WILL DROP FOR THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS TO AROUND 3000 FEET. WIND SPEEDS ARE ALSO
EXPECTED TO DROP SO THAT BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON, DISPERSION WILL BE
FAIR TO GENERALLY POOR.

FOG FORMATION IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT, BUT LOOKS TO BE HIGHEST ON
WEDNESDAY NIGHT MAINLY AROUND RIVERS, LAKES, AND VALLEYS.

THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT WARMER TEMPERATURES AND DRIER AIR ON
FRIDAY COULD LEAD TO MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES DROPPING CLOSE
TO 30 PERCENT, BUT SOME UNCERTAINTY EXISTS WITH THE FORECAST AT THIS
TIME.
