Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
238 PM CDT Sun Oct 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Widespread showers, with isolated thunderstorms, are expected to
develop this evening as a cold front moves into the area. As the
cold front moves through early on Monday, rain will begin to exit
the area, with most of the area becoming dry by the afternoon
hours. Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible with the activity
tonight through Monday morning, with rainfall totals of 1 to 3
inches expected. Winds will generally be from the south through
the late evening hours and then begin to shift to the west by
Monday morning.

Much drier air will begin to filter into the region Monday night
as winds become more northwesterly. Despite the drier air, minimum
RH values will remain in the 35 to 40 percent range on Tuesday
and then increase slightly through the week. Mixing heights will
rise well above 2000 feet by Tuesday afternoon and transport winds
will be around 20 mph. This will create very good dispersion
conditions. The dry air conditions will persist through the
remainder of the workweek, until another cold front approaches
late Friday/early Saturday.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
