FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
234 PM CDT TUE MAY 3 2016

.DISCUSSION...
DRY AND COOLER AIR WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTH AFTER A COLD FRONT
PASSED OVER THE REGION YESTERDAY. THIS WILL MEAN TEMPERATURES SHOULD
DROP INTO THE 40S TONIGHT. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO
MOVE ACROSS THE REGION ON WEDNESDAY BRINGING THE POSSIBILITY FOR
SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE AFTERNOON AN EARLY
EVENING. IN BETWEEN THESE SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS,
TEMPERATURES SHOULD RISE INTO THE LOW 70S. IN ADDITION, HIGHER MIXING
HEIGHTS AND WEST WINDS OF 10-15 MPH GUSTING TO 20 MPH WILL CONTRIBUTE
TO GOOD/VERY GOOD DISPERSION. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL THAT FOG MAY
DEVELOP WEDNESDAY NIGHT GIVEN THE RAINFALL AND CLEARING SKY, BUT
WINDS MAY STAY JUST HIGH ENOUGH TO PRECLUDE FORMATION.

THEN, DRY AND COOL WEATHER SHOULD PREVAIL THROUGH AT LEAST SATURDAY
WITH HIGH MIXING HEIGHTS AND GOOD/VERY GOOD DISPERSION. THE NEXT
CHANCE FOR PRECIPITATION IS ON MONDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
APPROACHES.
