FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
319 AM CDT SUN JUN 26 2016

.DISCUSSION...
HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS OVER THE TN VALLEY TODAY. EXPECT ANOTHER
HOT AND HUMID DAY WITH AFTERNOON HIGHS IN THE MID 90S AND HEAT
INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 100 TO 105 DEGREES. THUNDERSTORMS ARE
FORECAST TO BE MORE SCATTERED IN NATURE TODAY WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN,
WIND GUSTS TO 50MPH AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING THE MAIN THREATS. WHILE
MIXING HEIGHTS ARE FORECAST TO BE GOOD, TRANSPORT WINDS ARE LIGHT
AND VARIABLE AND WILL RESULT IN FAIR TO GOOD DISPERSION VALUES. PATCHY
FOG IS POSSIBLE AGAIN TONIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS THAT SEE HEAVY
RAINFALL.

A COLD FRONT WILL INTO THE AREA MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING BRINING
MORE WIDESPREAD RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS. WINDS SHIFT TO THE NORTH
LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING BEHIND THE FRONT AND WILL
BRING SOME RELIEF FROM THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY. TEMPERATURES LOWER TO
SEASONAL NORMALS AND RH VALUES DROP BELOW 40 PERCENT EACH AFTERNOON.
THESE CONDITIONS CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH OF THE WEEK WITH RAIN CHANCES
INCREASING BY NEXT WEEKEND.
