FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
452 AM CST THU NOV 27 2014

.DISCUSSION...
CLOUDY SKIES AND A BRISK NORTHWEST WIND WILL PREVAIL ACROSS THE
REGION TODAY IN THE WAKE OF A STRONG COLD FRONT LAST EVENING. A
FEW SNOW FLURRIES WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF
NORTHEAST ALABAMA. DESPITE THE COLD TEMPERATURES...MIXING HEIGHTS
AROUND 4500 FT AND A NORTHWEST TRANSPORT FLOW OF 15-20 MPH WILL
PROMOTE GOOD SMOKE DISPERSION. CLOUDS WILL BEGIN TO DISPERSE LATE
TODAY...SETTING THE STAGE FOR VERY COLD TEMPERATURES TONIGHT -- AS
HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE REGION AND WINDS BECOME LIGHT AND
VARIABLE. BASED ON THESE CONDITIONS...POOR DISPERSION IS EXPECTED
TOMORROW. WINDS WILL BEGIN TO INCREASE FROM THE SOUTHWEST LATE
FRIDAY NIGHT AS THE SURFACE HIGH SHIFTS EASTWARD...WITH CLOUDS
INCREASING SUBSTANTIALLY BY SATURDAY MORNING. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR
MEANINGFUL RAINFALL WILL COME FROM MONDAY EVENING INTO TUESDAY...
AS A FRONT DRIFTS INTO THE REGION AND STALLS.
