Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
329 PM CDT Mon Mar 27 2017

.DISCUSSION...

An unsettled weather pattern is forecast across Northern Alabama
into the middle of the week. As of the mid afternoon, a line of
strong to severe thunderstorms were moving to the northeast across
northwest Alabama; while other showers and thunderstorms are moving
northeast across the area from central Alabama. The primary threats
from the strongest storms this evening will be strong to damaging
wind gusts and large hail. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out.

Showers and storms should continue tonight, with a severe risk
lessened due to more stable conditions. A cold front moving across
the area from the west will result in the showers and storms ending
from northwest to southeast during Tuesday. Dry weather is forecast
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as slightly drier air filtering
in from the north influences the weather. The above noted cold front
will return northward as a warm front, bringing a slight chance of
thunderstorms during Wednesday afternoon.

Average rainfall amounts across the area should range around 1/2 of
an inch, with some spots receiving locally heavier amounts. Early
Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, patchy fog development is possible
due to this residual moisture. Fair to Generally Good smoke
dispersion rates are forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog development cannot
be ruled out early Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; especially if
those areas previously received heavy rainfall.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None.
