Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
250 AM CDT Tue Mar 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...

The chance for showers and thunderstorms will increase through
the day as an upper level disturbance and surface cold front
move through northern Alabama. The best chance for rain will
be north of the TN River between 3 pm and 9 pm, though there
may be isolated activity earlier. Outside of thunderstorm areas,
dispersion values will be fair today, as mixing heights rise
above 5000 feet and transport winds become westerly at around 10
to 15 mph. The cold front will exit to the south of the area
overnight, and precip should come to an end my daybreak on Wednesday.
Although a lingering light shower may develop, confidence is very
low on occurrence. Northerly winds will persist through the day.
High pressure will build in on Thursday and persist through Friday
keeping things dry across the forecast area. Northerly winds will
shift to the east on Thursday and then to the southeast on Friday.
RH values through the remainder of the week will remain above 40
percent.

Fog potential over the next few days: None.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: No concerns at this time.
