Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop today ahead of
an approaching cold front and coverage will become more widespread
tonight. Tonight, some of these storms could be severe producing
damaging winds. Around a total of 1.25 inches of rainfall is
expected through Sunday.

Southerly winds will become breezy today ~10 mph with gusts ~20
mph and increase overnight with the frontal passage helping
dispersions in most locations. On Sunday, cooler and drier air
will filter in behind the front. Winds will become northwesterly
and light and with lower mixing heights, dispersions will turn
generally poor. Conditions will be dry on Monday and Tuesday with
the next chance of rainfall expected Tuesday night.


Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
