Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
239 PM CDT Tue Apr 16 2024

.DISCUSSION...Patchy fog will be possible in the southeast
Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but dense fog is not anticipated.
A weak cold front will sag into northwest Mississippi this evening
before stalling Wednesday along the Highway 82 corridor.
The chance for rain will increase tonight across the northern
districts into Wednesday morning before tapering off from the west
Wednesday afternoon. Rain chances will increase again over much
of the area Thursday ahead of another low pressure system that
will try to drop a cold front into our CWA Friday. This front is
expected to stall but remain a focus for rain chances until a
clearing cold front moves through on Sunday. Sunday night cooler
and drier conditions will be back over the region.
