...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTY THROUGH
100 PM MDT...

At 1221 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 17
miles southwest of Roswell, moving northeast at 5 mph towards U.S.
Highway 70 and 380.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Chaves
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor your preferred
media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Heavy rains will cause water to pond on roads and in low spots. Fast
running water will quickly fill arroyos and ditches.
