At 604 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Vandiver, or 9 miles south of Leeds, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Vincent, Harpersville, Vandiver, Alpine Bay Resort, Alpine, Logan Martin Dam, Logan Martin Lake, Country Club Estates, and Sterrett. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
