...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT HST TONIGHT FOR THE
ISLAND OF HAWAII IN HAWAII COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.

* WHEN...Until midnight HST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 901 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the southeast
    slopes of the Big Island, from just south of Hilo to South
    Point. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park,
    Volcano, Wood Valley, Pahala, Glenwood, Punaluu Beach,
    Mountain View, Kawa Flats, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidlands
    Estates, Naalehu, Keaau, Pahoa, Hawaiian Ocean View, Fern
    Forest, Eden Roc and Fern Acres.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond midnight HST tonight if
flooding persists.
