...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CDT THURSDAY FOR
EAST CENTRAL SUMNER COUNTY...

AT 230 AM CDT...SLATE CREEK AT WELLINGTON WAS AT 17.7 FEET AND
FALLING. THE CREEK CRESTED AT 20 FEET ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
DROPPED BELOW THE FLOOD STAGE OF 19 FEET WEDNESDAY EVENING. THE
CREEK SHOULD CONTINUE A STEADY FALL TODAY.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
WELLINGTON.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES...OAK CREEK...
SNYDER CREEK...SLATE CREEK...HARGIS CREEK...ANTELOPE CREEK...SPRING
CREEK...WINSER CREEK...BEAVER CREEK...BADGER CREEK...WEST PRAIRIE
CREEK...SALT CREEK AND ARKANSAS RIVER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
