...The flood warning continues for the following river in Kansas...

  Walnut River At Winfield affecting Butler and Cowley Counties.

  Walnut River Near Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around don`t drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River at Winfield.
* Until late Friday night.
* At 11:01 PM Wednesday the stage was 23.4 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.9 feet by
  early Thursday morning and will fall below flood stage Friday early
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet...A large portion of the fairgrounds flood
  along with roads west of Rock and 3 miles northwest of Winfield.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Walnut River near Arkansas City.
* Until Friday morning.
* At 10:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 17.8 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Thursday morning and
  continue to rise to near 18.3 feet by early Thursday afternoon. The
  river will fall below flood stage by late Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Considerable flooding of farmland can be
  expected. There is considerable flooding upstream along the west
  bank of the Walnut River. On the east bank, the ground slopes
  upward so that only about a 300 foot wide strip of land would be
  affected.
