THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL KANSAS...
SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS SOUTH
CENTRAL KANSAS...MAINLY WEST OF HWY 14. THIS ACTIVITY WILL SPREAD
NORTHWARD ALONG AND NORTH OF I-70 AND EVENTUALLY ACROSS EAST AND
NORTHEAST KANSAS DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. THE
PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT WILL BE HAIL.

GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER WILL BE VERY HIGH ACROSS MOST OF THE
FORECAST AREA TODAY WITH STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AND DRY FUELS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

THUNDERSTORMS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE AREA SUNDAY. THE PRIMARY
LOCATION WILL BE OVER EASTERN KANSAS IN THE MORNING HOURS.
AFTERNOON THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE COLD FRONT AS
IT MOVES EASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA. A FEW SEVERE STORMS WITH LARGE
HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

STRONG WINDS WILL BE PRESENT BEHIND THE COLD FRONT SUNDAY WITH
SUSTAINED SPEEDS APPROACHING 30 MPH WITH GUSTS CLOSE TO 40 MPH.

RAIN MAY MIX WITH SNOW SUNDAY NIGHT ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
KANSAS AS COLD AIR SURGES INTO THE REGION BEHIND A STRONG COLD
FRONT. LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS MAY BE POSSIBLE ON ELEVATED OR GRASSY
SURFACES BUT TRAVEL IMPLICATIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED.

FREEZING OR NEAR FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE FOR
MONDAY AND TUESDAY MORNING. PLEASE TAKE PRECAUTIONS WITH ANY
SENSITIVE PLANTS.

GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER WILL BE VERY HIGH THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT
WEEK.
