Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
431 PM CDT Tue Mar 12 2024
Warm and breezy conditions prevailed across eastern Kansas with a
frontal boundary pushing eastward this afternoon. Afternoon highs
were in the 60s and 70s with mostly sunny skies.
A upper level weather system and associated cold front will move
eastward into Missouri tonight. A line of showers and storms will
develop ahead of the front and move eastward across Missouri. A
few of the storms could become strong and produce small hail.
Overnight lows will range from the 30s in northern Nebraska, to
the mid 50s in eastern Oklahoma.
A second upper level weather system will eject from the Rockies
out into the Heartland during the day on Wednesday. This will
cause a surface low pressure system to deepen over central Kansas
late in the afternoon, and a warm front to move slowly north into
northern Kansas. Scattered showers and storms are expected to
develop along the warm front, and a few of them could reach
severe levels. Daytime highs will range from the low 80s in
central Oklahoma to the cooler 40s in the Nebraska panhandle.
