FOR NORTHEASTERN GREENWOOD AND EAST CENTRAL CHASE COUNTIES...

AT 528 PM CDT...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE
EXTENDING FROM 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF EMPORIA...TO OLPE...TO NEAR
MADISON TO 6 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HAMILTON...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45
MPH.

HAZARD...70 MPH WIND GUSTS AND PEA TO PENNY SIZE HAIL.

SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED.

IMPACT...EXPECT SOME TREE DAMAGE. DAMAGE IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO MOBILE
HOMES...ROOFS AND OUTBUILDINGS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
MADISON...HAMILTON AND VIRGIL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. PEOPLE OUTSIDE
SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING AND AWAY FROM
WINDOWS.

INTENSE THUNDERSTORM LINES CAN PRODUCE BRIEF TORNADOES AND WIDESPREAD
SIGNIFICANT WIND DAMAGE. ALTHOUGH A TORNADO IS NOT IMMEDIATELY
LIKELY...IT IS BEST TO MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
OF A BUILDING.
