Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
224 PM PDT Mon Apr 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Sunday was the warmest day of the week. A deep marine layer pattern has
settled in and will persist through at least Friday this week. Moist
and cool conditions will continue on the coastal side of the mountains,
with patchy drizzle expected each morning. Humidities over the
mountains above 4000 feet elevations and the deserts will lower each
day into the 15 to 25 percent range. Southwest wind gusts to 20 to 40
mph will form each afternoon and evening over the mountains and interior
valleys, strongest over the Antelope Valley. A weak low pressure system
will push through the western United States on Thursday or Friday, but
nearly all projections keep it over the interior sections (inside
slider) resulting in nothing more than a potential enhancement of low
clouds and drizzle or very light rain.
