...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday)
Issued at 152 AM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024

We are going to see great weather today with highs pushing into
the low to mid 70s. Skies will start out clear but as the
afternoon goes on we will start to see increasing mid to high
level clouds ahead of a short wave and warm front. This short wave
and warm front will move in Thursday night into Friday morning
and will bring the chance for some scattered showers. CAPE will be
limited and that should keep the thunderstorm chances low. QPF
will be very light through Friday morning with just a few
hundreths possible.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday Night through next Thursday)
Issued at 152 AM CDT Thu Apr 25 2024

Upper level ridging builds in for the weekend with an active
pattern setting up to our west. This will keep things quiet in
Middle TN over the weekend with warm daytime highs pushing into
the mid 80s. With the active pattern off to our west and high
pressure just to our east we will see a good pressure gradient
over us bringing breezy winds. Saturday will be the breeziest
with gusts 25-35 mph.

Upper level ridge pushes east late weekend into early next week
with a short wave trough lifting out of the Planes. This will push
a weak cold front into Middle TN Monday into Tuesday bringing
showers and thunderstorms. CAPE looks to remain below 500 j/kg on
Monday and lapse rates look poor on the soundings with overall low
shear. If this holds the severe threat should remain low.

Zonal flow to weak ridging builds in behind the front. A weak
short wave may push over the area on Wednesday bringing slight
shower chances.
