Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
147 PM CDT Thu Mar 28 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated fire weather conditions will persist into early this
evening as humidity values remain in the 20-35% range with light
southwest surface winds.

Winds will then begin to increase out of the south late tonight
and will become brisk and gusty out of the south to southwest on
Friday. Gusts of 30-45 mph are expected, with the highest gusts
near and west of the I-49 corridor. Afternoon humidities will fall
into the 30-40% range and again result in elevated fire weather
conditions.

A cold front will move into the area from Friday night into
Saturday and will bring 20-40% chances for showers and
thunderstorms, mainly across central Missouri.

A strong storm system will then bring the potential for severe
storms on Monday.
