BASTROP COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE
BASTROP COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT.

DUE TO EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS ON ALL BASTROP COUNTY ROADS
AND STREETS...BASTROP COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IS
ASKING ALL MOTORISTS TO AVOID DRIVING ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTY.
EMERGENCY CREWS ARE CURRENTLY OVERWHELMED WITH WATER RESCUES AND
OTHER EMERGENCY CALLS. THERE ARE MANY FLOODED ROADWAYS WITH
SEVERAL FEET OF WATER OVER THE ROAD THAT ARE NOT BARRICADED OR
MARKED ON ATXFLOODS. CREWS ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MANY OF THESE
LOCATIONS. DRIVERS THAT CHOOSE TO DRIVE ON ANY ROADS IN BASTROP
COUNTY COULD BE CAUGHT IN HIGH WATER DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY AND
HEAVY RAIN THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
SITUATION FOR ANY MOTORIST ON THE ROADWAY IN BASTROP COUNTY.
