.....JULY 2015 SLIGHTLY COOLER WITH NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION.....

AFTER A WARMER AND WETTER JUNE 2015 WITH THE NORTH AMERICAN MONSOON
IN FULL FORCE...THE EARLY PORTION OF JULY CONTINUED WITH THAT
MONSOONAL PATTERN WITH MOIST AND UNSETTLED CONDITIONS. FOR THE FINAL
TWO WEEKS OF JULY...MID AND UPPER LEVEL STABILITY ASSOCIATED WITH A
DOMINANT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES
INCREASED WHILE INHIBITING THE WIDESPREAD AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE EASTERN PLAINS WHICH HAD BEEN OBSERVED FOR
SEVERAL WEEKS PRIOR.

TEMPERATURES:

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE
MONTH OF JULY WAS 72.8 DEGREES F WHICH WAS 1.4 DEGREES BELOW THE
NORMAL OF 74.2 DEGREES. JULY OF 2012 WAS THE WARMEST JULY AND
WARMEST MONTH EVER RECORD IN DENVER ...WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
OF 78.9 DEGREES F. THERE WERE 16 DAYS DURING THE MONTH IN WHICH THE
TEMPERATURE REACHED OR EXCEEDED THE 90 DEGREE MARK...AND NO DAYS AT
OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES. THE COLDEST JULY ON RECORD WAS 67.3 DEGREES F
WHICH OCCURRED BACK IN 1895. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH
WAS 97 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 27TH. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE
OF THE MONTH WAS 52 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED LESS THAN 24 HOURS
LATER ON THE MORNING OF THE 28TH.
